Todd Weir Obtains Defense Verdict

On March 18, 2011, after a two week trial in a complex bariatric surgery case, the jury returned a verdict exonerating the physician Todd Weir represented. The jury deliberated for only an hour and ten minutes. The plaintiff was claiming $1,300,000.00 in past medical expenses and over $4,000,000.00 in future health care needs and loss of earning capacity. The case centered on complications which arose after bariatric surgery. The defense obtained as defense witnesses two of the most highly recognized bariatric surgeons in the world, who defended the conduct of the physician defendant in all regards.
